The 17th annual "Sporty Librarians" competition, organized for library staff and personnel across Mongolia, was held this year.
The event was organized by the Mongolian Libraries Consortium in collaboration with the Central Library of the National Defense University (NDU). It featured five sports categories and took place from June 12 to 14, 2026, at the NDU Sports Complex and Field Training Center.
The competition brought together over 250 personnel and athletes from 14 teams, including the National Library of Mongolia, the Mongolian Libraries Consortium, the National University of Mongolia, the National Defense University, the University of Internal Affairs, the Mongolian University of Life Sciences, a joint team of general education schools, and representatives from the provinces of Umnugovi, Dundgovi, Dornogovi, Orkhon, Dornod, Bayankhongor, and Bulgan.
A 20-member team from the Central Library of the University of Internal Affairs participated successfully, winning first place and gold medals in both Women's Volleyball and the Obstacle Course. They also secured second place and silver medals in Women's 3x3 Basketball and Mixed Volleyball. With a total score of 20 points, the team took first place overall, receiving the traveling trophy and the flag to host the 18th annual competition in 2027.
