The Quality Assurance Center was established by Order No. A/133 (2020) of the Minister of Justice and Home Affairs, "On Re-approving the Structure and Staffing of the University of Internal Affairs." The center was initially formed with a team of three, including a Head and two Senior Specialists. Its establishment aimed to integrate international standards into the university's operations and ensure the implementation of several key policy documents: Mongolia’s "Vision 2050" Long-term Development Policy (approved by Parliament Resolution No. 52, 2020), the Government Action Program 2020–2024, and the University’s Strategic Plan 2021–2024 (approved by Minister Order No. A/150, 2021)

In accordance with the core functions specified in the General Law on Education and the Law on Higher Education, the center implements processes aimed at:

Continuously improving the quality of training and research through internal quality assurance and evaluations conducted with stakeholder participation;
Ensuring the University’s operations comply with national and international standards, criteria, and requirements.
